Book changes: History really does back the BBT
It's a persistent image: Srila Prabhupada in Los Angeles in December of 1968, working side by side with Hayagriva Prabhu, carefully putting the finishing touches on Bhagavad-gita As It Is. Govinda Dasi was personally serving Srila Prabhupada in Los Angeles at the time, and she is sure this is what she saw. Techie devotees: Help build the BBT digital repository
The BBT has a lot of valuable stuff--books, manuscripts, letters, photos, paintings, audio, videos, and more, some of it in the Bhaktivedanta Archives, some of it elsewhere. A lot of it is in digital form, some of it not. Following the model for an Open Archival Information System, the BBT has begun a "Digital Repository" project. Among its purposes: To put all the BBT's stuff (as far as possible) into an up-to-date digital form, with suitable "metatags" to help in finding things. To archive all the stuff in one digital repository--one digital "box" (of course with backups). To … [Read more...] about Techie devotees: Help build the BBT digital repository
“Krishna-lila-stava” published
The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust has just published a book I helped edit: Srila Sanatana Gosvami's Sri Krishna-lila-stava, translated, with a brief commentary, by Gopiparanadhana Dasa. Srila Sanatana Gosvami (circa 1488–1558) was the seniormost of the six Gosvamis who expounded and elaborated the teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Of Srila Sanatana's four literary works, Sri Krishna-lila-stava is the shortest and simplest. The book consists of 432 verses offering praise to Lord Krishna through prayers. In essence, the book is a summary of the pastimes (lilas) of Krishna found in the first … [Read more...] about “Krishna-lila-stava” published
